Producing a race can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be. Our role is to level the playing field and produce a race that meets your expectations. We believe our work displays a passion for race day experience and community building through the sport. We are “runner first” and follow the highest industry standards whenever consulting on, developing, or managing an event.

WE MAKE iconic races happen

With 5 seasons and over 100 races under our belt, we’ve found our niche in helping clients build great races from the ground up. The running event industry no longer relies simply on the “build it and they will come” mentality - thorough development and rich collaboration are the most important ingredients to executing an event that lasts and keeps people coming back every year. Our events stand out in South Jersey because we take the time to work through key details like branding, community integration, and experience value with and on behalf of our clients. Second Capital Running is the regions fastest growing one-stop race race production company and we tailor our services to match the unique needs and strengths of each client.

BUSINESS COLLABS & SPONSORSHIP

The ideal win-win financial or in kind sponsorship gets you in front of the people you want to engage, and gives us a means to elevate the quality of the races we produce. We especially love to work with local (South Jersey) businesses seeking deeper community involvement. There is a few reasons why a business of any size would get involved:

  • Your company wants to organize an event to support a cause or community member

  • You sell a product/service and want to get it in front of more faces

  • We have an already existing event that you would like to sponsor

  • You are seeking a new way to expand your reach

Examples: Run Wild for the Cape May County Zoo with Sturdy Savings Bank, RUNNING WITH THE SHARKS 5K with Ship Bottom Brewery

NON-PROFITS & COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

Non-profits and community groups are our favorite types of friends to work with. You want people to get involved with your charity and we love to help make that happen. Whenever working with non-profits that want to have a race, we ask them to consider these things:

  • Are you confident this is something that speaks to your clientele and would excite them? There are times when organizations host runs and miss out on reaching their core demographic because it’s not something they are even interested in. A 5K is not an ideal community event if your community isn’t into it.

  • What is your goal for the run and how do you want to reach people? This is important to ensure the race takes shape into something that aligns with your core values.

  • Are you in it for the long haul? Building a race takes patience. All the best races got there by repetition and we start a project with the goal of watching it grow over years. A legacy for your cause.

  • Are you open minded? Consultation is very honest, creative, and at times bold. Every suggestion and decision comes from the intent to make the race into it’s best version possible. Perspectives come not just from professionals, but active runners.

Examples: Always Ready 5K with Cape May Coast Guard Community Foundation RUNNING THE AVE 5K with Main Street Vineland, HERO 5K & RUCK with Operation Safe Haven (Franklinville)

municipalities & townships

Our practices match industry standards from the highest profile races and scale them to create a benchmark event with local staying power. A good community event like a 5K not only boosts local morale, but opens your area borders to people who may not have had a reason to visit before. We have seen great success in our own hometown of Vineland as we’ve made efforts to intertwine the running community into the overall identity of the city and want to replicate that in our surrounding communities. We are hoping to work throughout South Jersey, but have an expressed interest in developing events in Cumberland, Salem, and Atlantic Counties.

Examples: Harbor Hop (Stone Harbor), RUNNING THE AVE 5K (Vineland), Christopher Reeves Scholarship 5K (Millville)
